6th in Limit Holdem Championship

Yep, 6th it is.  Happy to get to the final table.  Unhappy with the result.  Thanks for everyone’s support while I was at the final table.  It was very helpful to the psyche when so many people were pulling for me.   Anyway, so the final table was stacked with a ridiculous amount of talent and skill.  Of the final ten, eight were great limit holdem players, and all ten were great poker players with proven track records.  My friend Matt Hawrilenko was one of those who is widely considered the best limit holdem player in the world.  Six of the ten at the final table are friends of mine, so it made for a very easygoing enjoyable experience.  Even though I did not win, I could not be happier for my good friend Greg who won the event.  He finished 2nd a few times before and I know he was just dying to win a bracelet.  Good things happen to good people!  Greg deserves the glory.  Oh yeah, and the 450k that goes along with it.

Greg is on my team in the prop bet against Daniel Negreanu and Erick Lindgren for WSOP player of the year points.  So this combined effort in the limit holdem today pulls us ahead to a nice comfortable lead.  Making the final table today was a clincher for a prop bet with Matusow so that will be 10k from him.  Half goes to Bryan Colin who took half that bet of mine.  Just gotta love Mike.

Good news.  I only lost 1k today in Chinese Poker.

After I busted out from the tournament I went over to the Bellagio to play the 2k-4k mixed game again.  Some new faces to the lineup last night.  We were honored with the presence of the Great Dane (Gus Hansen) and the Great Baldini (Jon Hansen).  No relation between the two.   Needless to say the game is becoming more fun as we get midway through the WSOP.  The mix today was Omaha 8, Stud 8, 2-7 Triple Draw.  I netted a dissapointing 12k in the game today after being up over 100k early.

Tomorrow we got the Stud 8 or better World Championship 10k Event.  Certainly one of the top 3 events in terms of value.  Barry assures me this will be a super soft field.  I will have a bunch  side action on this tournament.  I have a 20% crossbook with Jon Hansen,  20k bonus for making the final table, and a 20k last longer with him.   I also have a 20k bonus for cashing, 20k bonus for final table, and 20k bonus for winning it, all with Abe.
